Sonrisa is a 58-unit community that is governed and made affordable by the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program and HCD Transit-Oriented Development program.

Sonrisa is the first project to break ground and the first to be completed under Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-06-19 for Affordable Housing Development, which prioritizes affordable housing development on excess State-owned property and pursuit of sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective construction methods. Sonrisa has been made possible through a public-private partnership between the Capitol Area Community Development Corporation (CACDC)/Capitol Area Development Authority (CADA) and CFY Development.
